THE BAYLEAF TEA ROOM

Housed in a restored historic Nutmeg Processing Station and inspired by an enduring Caribbean herbal tea culture, the bayleaf tea room offers you authentic tea experiences and natural healing inspiration.

We have partnered with the talented chef Belinda Bishop of Flavours of Grenada to create a one of a kind, custom menu full of Caribbean flavours and inspiration, served with unique tea blends from the Caribbean and around the world. 

 

OUR STORY

For years after Hurricane Ivan destroyed much of the nutmeg trade, most of Grenada’s iconic Nutmeg Processing Stations laid abandoned. These nutmeg stations had provided a sustainable source of income and incredible pride for families and communities for generations.

In 2019 we acquired the lease for the first floor of the Vincennes Nutmeg Station and transformed it into our herbal tea production facility - and from the start, our vision was to develop a tea room to share authentic tea experiences in Grenada. Restoring the Nutmeg Facility was very important to us, as it allows us to honor and preserve the economic legacy of the building and the community.

Welcome to the bayleaf tea room, Grenada’s first authentic tea room, offering you incredible tea experiences alongside local creativity in the tranquility of the countryside.

 Directions to garden of bayleaf:
Route#1:
Red Gate – Corinth junction
Turn left into Corinth junction and take first quick left. (Corinth junction is the first junction on the left after entrance to Laura’s at Grenada Marine)
Follow and stay on this winding road to the tea room at the Vincennes Nutmeg Pool. Landmarks along the way:
1.Dudmar bus stop/ junction
2. Black and white bridge #1
3.Vincennes Medical Clinic
4. Black and white bridge #2
And we are right around the corner after the second bridge.

St.Paul’s
Take St.Paul’s road all the way to Perdmontemps junction and take the top road at this junction. Follow the road through Windsor Forest to Vincennes, pass Mount Tranquil junction and the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
The tea room is just after the church.
